Impression of Site
The site seems very desolate and cut off from the movement
and noise of the city. There is a mix match of new and old warehouses and storage
areas. It seems to be in a transitional phase with a strong presence of small
businesses.

| Program
The organization of my building will
facilitate the healing process by offering the necessary support needed to go
from addiction to clean living. This will be achieved through group and
individual activities such as: group therapy sections, group and individual
exercise, spa and pool accommodation, kayaking, and fishing. My program will be
prepared to deal with the ups and downs of addiction rehabilitation.

"Potential"
Red Hook may not look it now but
with a little elbow grease and the right tools its has the potential to attract
both locales and tourists. To represent this idea I chose images that I feel
embody: hope, calculation, goal setting, growth, diversity, and ingenuity, all subcategories
to the bigger picture.

Nita, these are great but what are they? What do they mean? Can you please describe your assignment, and tell us WHY these images!
ReplyDeleteGreat choice of images, I look forward to seeing how you translate the states of emotion, character of objects and spaces into the architecture...you have identified the activities both existing and proposed, I wonder how your architectural concept will enable this all to happen... ?
